WOW…. that’s it… simple.. to the point… just WOW!!!
For those that have seen Brett before you know you can always expect a fantastic performance with high energy, heartfelt words, Power, and quality music. This show was something more.. something special. Covid shut down the music industry.. longer than any other industry.. we wern’t sure if we’d get it back at all in 2020 but when there’s a will, there’s a way! Brett and his team made something magical happen, 24 shows across Canada Drive-In style, fun, safe, following all of the rules and it was unbelievable.
Brett’s energy was a bit different at this show.. it was higher, more explosive and it makes sense. Going from a 2020 year that was expected to be shut down.. ZERO performances.. to being able to hit the road and play for everyone.. it was a gift and being who Brett and his team are… they knew it! The whole team was so thankful and happy to be out there again and you could see it on their faces.. huge smiles everywhere… not going to lie, when Brett was talking about being back out there and how happy and thankful he was.. especially to be back in London ( Home away from home where a lot of HUGE things in his career took place), I was a bit choked up because lets face it… Music is powerful.. Music is Life and without it I am lost, as I’m sure many of you feel the same way.
This weekend was a two show banger! Brett played once at 5:30pm and again at 9:30pm. When first announced Brett was coming to London it was just the 9:30pm show.. but as we all knew.. that show sold out in minutes! so of course, in classic Brett fashion, wanting to give the fans … ALL of the fans, a great show he added the 5:30pm show and London being London, loving Brett and country music sold out that show too!!
Once the show began the car horns were honking like crazy, everyone showing their excitement and appreciation for a live show. Not old was Brett doing a live performance, but this was no small production! They had 2 semi-trucks hauling all this gear across Canada.. the stage was your typical Large production stage we’ve seen at Trackside or Parkjam but I swear the lighting rig was WAY bigger.. the lighting at this thing was incredible! CO2 cannons blowing smoke sky high all across the stage….. no small production at all!
Before covid began, Brett was challenged to a beer pong game by a guy from Dorchester Ontario ( just down the road from London). I apologize, I can’t remember this guys name.. I tried so hard to remember it lastnight so I could try and look him up today to show him the images I got of him.. but more on that in a min. Brett accepted this challenge and backstage at another show they played… Brett did not win.. the steaks if this gentleman won he gets to get up on stage and sing with Brett… This was all set up, but then Covid hit… well since Brett was in Ontario… in London… just down the road from Dorchester, he text this gentleman and told him, it’s game on.. this is happening.. get to the show you’re coming up on stage! We witnessed this and I have to tell you.. this guy could sing.. he sounded like Luke Combs so of course they performed a Luke Combs song and it was incredible… a dream come true for this guy too and he looked so comfortable up on that stage with everyone watching too… so buddy, if you some how see this blog and read it… contact me man.. I have some images for you!
All in all, this was an spectacular night… much needed not just for my soul, but for the other fans, the even coordinators, the promotors, the band, the label, the sound folks… everyone involved in putting on a show.. this was a life saver.. an incredible thing happened in the middle of a pandemic.. Thank you to all of you!
