On October 11, 2026, I had the opportunity to photograph Warm & Fuzzy Fest at Side Launch Brewing in London, Ontario. The outdoor event brought together live music, good food, tasty beverages, and a fantastic atmosphere, all in support of the London Humane Society.

The evening got off to a slightly uncertain start, with rain threatening to put a damper on the outdoor festivities. Fortunately, the weather didn’t stick around for long, and the skies cleared to make way for an incredible evening of live music.
With the weather cooperating, the beer garden came alive as guests gathered to enjoy the performances, food, and drinks. From the warm glow of the Edison lights to the energy of the musicians on stage, there were plenty of moments that made Warm & Fuzzy Fest a memorable night to photograph.

The event featured performances from local musicians, including Oliver Orr and Daisy Chain, bringing a great mix of live music to the evening. Beyond the music, Warm & Fuzzy Fest was also about supporting a good cause, The London Humane Society.

As a photographer, events like this offer an opportunity to capture more than just the performances. The atmosphere, the details, the people, and the moments in between all help tell the story of the night and what made it special.

Not only did we have Oliver Orr and Daisy Chain perform but Emily Garber who was outstanding, fun and very relatable music. Marty Kolls was another performer with an incredible voice. She had a a cellist on stage and for those who know me you know i’m a sucker for the deep string sound of a cello! Kolls also had two back up singers on stage who are very familiar faces around London Ontario as they are in their own band called “ The Pairs “. Oh and did I mention that one of the two ladies in Daisy Chain is also in a punk band who’s pretty well known from London called “ Thunder Queens “, This night was full of talent.

The night culminated with Joel Plaskett, the acclaimed Canadian Singer-songwriter from Nova Scotia. With a long history connected to London, Plaskett started some memories of the city with the audience during his performance.

One of the places he reflected on was The Embassy Hotel, a former London music venue that held a special place in the city’s live music history before it was destroyed by fire. Hearing him reminisce about the Embassy was a reminder of the connections artists build with a city over the years, and of the venues and experiences that become part of a local music community’s story.

Photographing an event like Warm & Fuzzy Fest is about more than documenting the musicians performing. It’s also about capturing the atmosphere surrounding the music: The setting, the details and the moments that give an event its character.

From the outdoor setting at Side Launch Brewing to the performances throughout the evening, there was plenty to photograph. Despite the uncertain start, the night came together beautifully, bringing people together through music and a shared commitment to supporting the London Humane Society.

Warm & Fuzzy Fest was a great example of how live music can bring a community together while supporting a meaningful cause. I’m glad I had the opportunity to document the evening and capture some of the moments that made the 2026 festival memorable.
